I figured if I was going to do a travel blog I might as well start at the beginning and go from there! So the FIRST international trip I planned- reflecting I cannot believe that this trip was the propeller that immersed me into international travel, adventure, and culture explosion. If you are looking for a first adventure I cannot recommend starting with South America enough! So here are the details:
Why we chose Peru and what to expect?
My husband and I were interested in going on a trip that was both inexpensive, had the possibility of hiking, and also was safe. We both had an interest in seeing Machu Picchu so Lima and Cusco, Peru made sense! To get to Cusco we flew into Lima and then took a hopper flight into Cusco. Cusco is a charming city that is tourist friendly, easy to navigate, and is the perfect platform to explore the Sacred Valley, mountains, or just sight see in the city. In terms of language barrier, due to the high amount of tourism it was very easy to navigate with conversational level Spanish, but mostly English. A personal preference when I travel I try to at least have basic greetings and courtesies, asking for bathrooms or specific locations, and simple requests
